Help for the Holidays: Thanksgiving Made Easy

Help for the Holidays: Thanksgiving Made Easy

Your Thanksgiving dinner should be a fun time to catch up with family and close friends, but feeding so many people is a lot of work. Lots of businesses around Snohomish County are ready to help you put together an impressive spread. With a little planning and driving, you'll save a lot of stress.

PULL UP A CHAIR

Everyone will see your tablescape long before the food arrives, so make it look great with serveware from J. Matheson or coordinated place settings from Party City. Stop by Dollar Tree first, you'll be surprised how many essentials you can pick up for a buck.

BAG A BIRD

Sno-Isle Co-Op in Everett doesn't take reservations for turkeys but will have plenty available. If you'd like to reserve a fresh or cooked turkey, check out PCC Community Markets in Edmonds or Bothell, which also offers beef rib roast and ham. Want to try something different? Grab a whole roast duck at Everett's Evergreen Asian Market.

KEEP YOUR FORK, THERE'S PIE

No matter how much everyone eats, they'll still want dessert. Impress them a sweet treat from Snohomish Pie Company in Snohomish or Mountlake Terrace. Find more legendary pies at The Sisters Restaurant, Petite Sweet Bakery and The New Mexicans in Everett. For desserts especially, be sure to order ahead so you don't miss out.

RAISE A GLASS

A tart, crisp cider pairs really well with rich, fatty foods, so grab some crowlers (large cans sealed to order) at Soundbite Cider. For a more sophisticated cocktail offering, pick up some organic vodka, gin or liqueurs at Bluewater Organic Distilling. Not sure what your beer-drinking friends like? Pick up single bottles and cans from the huge selection at Toggle's Bottle Shop.

FEELING OVERWHELMED?

Sometimes you need your day off to be a real day off. If you don't have the time or energy to cook, order full meals for pickup from Haggen stores all over Snohomish County or Whole Foods in Lynnwood.
