Four Fun Things: Favorite Knitting Spots

Four Fun Things: Favorite Knitting Spots

The leaves are starting to fall and the days are getting shorter which means winter is coming and it is time to prepare by knitting up a cozy sweater and some warm socks! There will be plenty of time to hunker down at home to knit, but for now while the weather is reasonable, consider getting your yarn on at one of our favorite spots to knit.

Public Center House

115 Avenue A, Snohomish, WA 98290

Relax while you knit and purl on Public Center House’s extended covered porch. Sip a local beer, cider, or wine knowing you are supporting a good cause. Public Center House donates profits to local charities. Plan your visit around mealtime and try one of their delicious grilled cheese sandwiches.

Everett Public Library

2702 Hoyt Ave., Everett, WA 98201

Join like-minded crafters from the Crochet and Knit Club the first Sunday of each month from 1-4:30 p.m. at the main branch of Everett Public Library.  If you need help and advice, knitters are notorious for being helpful.

Tabby’s Coffee

2702 Hoyt Ave., Everett, WA 98201

If you happen to be at the library on a day when the Crochet and Knit Club isn’t meeting, you can find a comfy seat in the historic Henry Jackson Reading Room where Tabby’s Coffee is located.  Pick up a cup of joe and sandwich to fuel you while you work on fixing your dropped stitch.

Spotted Cow Coffee Company

15118 Main St #700; Mill Creek, WA 98012

Cast on in a nice cozy chair with a cup of tea or coffee and a pastry.  If you need a break from your knitting, take a stroll on the nearby North Creek Trail, which is accessible from the parking lot behind the building.

Need some inspiration to get started? Stop by one of our local yarn shops like Great Yarns in Everett or Country Yarns in Snohomish to pick up a couple of skeins and some inspiration and tips. Knit on!
