Seasonal Delights: Farmers Markets are Open for Business

Seasonal Delights: Farmers Markets are Open for Business

The vegetables grown lovingly from seed by our hard-working farmers did not stop growing during the pandemic. As guidelines and predictions seemed to change daily, Everett Farmers Market worked closely with the Snohomish Health District and City of Everett to figure out a way to open the Sunday market in early May.

Social distancing guidelines from the health district will make our experience a little different this year. You can not bring your pup and you must wear a face cover. As much fun as it is to wander through the market, you should plan what you need and work to get in and out of the market quickly. Pay with a card or come prepared to pay with exact change. Before you go, check the market website for updates and look for pre-order options.

Even though a market visit won’t be as fun this year, you’ll get the same farm-fresh produce and help support our local economy. Here are some of the local markets open for business.

Everett Farmers Market
2930 Wetmore Ave.
Everett, Washington 98201

Open Sundays 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. through October
Seniors and high-risk customers can shop at 10:30 a.m.

This market is back at its roomy downtown Everett location. There are only two points of access to the market, Wall and Hewitt.

Snohomish Farmers Market
8705 Marsh Road
Stocker Farms
Snohomish, WA 98296

Open Thursdays 3 to 7 p.m. through September 24
Seniors and high-risk customers can shop at 2:30 p.m.

This compact market is usually packed with people so to allow for social distancing, they have relocated to Stockers Farms for the season.

Edmonds Summer Market
5th Avenue N & Main
Edmonds, WA 98020

Saturdays 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through October 10

This fun market is back open in Edmond’s downtown shopping area.

Farm Guide
Tilth Alliance has a great website called Farm Guide. You will find links to farmers markets and various types of farms throughout the state. Check it out and support our local farmers.
