Seasonal Delights: Exploring Everett’s Waters

Seasonal Delights: Exploring Everett’s Waters

Sales of boats, kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddleboards really took off during the pandemic, so much so there was a shortage. Perhaps everyone was looking for some space and fresh air and luckily we’ve got a lot of that around our beautiful city.

Everett, being a peninsula, has easy access to the Salish Sea and the Snohomish River. If you’re a lucky owner of some type of watercraft, here are a few places to drop it in the water and start exploring.

Rotary Park
3505 Lowell Snohomish River Rd
Everett, WA 98201

This is a great place to launch if you want to head up the Snohomish river for exploration. Keep an eye on the tides though because you can get stuck at low tide.

Langus Riverfront Park
400 Smith Island Rd
Everett, WA 98201

Smith Island is a hidden treasure off the beaten path. Launch your boat and explore the waterways for waterfowl, raptors and shorebirds around Ferry Baker Island.

10th Street Boat Launch
607 10th St
Everett, WA 98201

This is the perfect spot to launch an adventure to Jetty Island, check out some shipwrecks or just explore the mouth of the Snohomish River.

Thornton A. Sullivan Park
11405 W, Silver Lake Rd
Everett, WA 98208

Motorcraft aren’t allowed on beautiful Silver Lake so it’s the perfect place to try out your non-motorized watercraft. Enjoy a lazy paddle around the lake and if you spend enough time on the water you might get to witness resident eagles catching lunch.

If you are a watercraft newbie, make sure you know how to keep safe on the water

If you don’t have your own water vessel, you can rent paddleboards and kayaks at both Silver Lake and the 10th Street Boat Launch
