Seasonal Delights: Favorite Fall Activities

Seasonal Delights: Favorite Fall Activities

Time keeps rolling forward, at what seems like a very fast pace these days. Make sure to slow down and take some time to enjoy the cooling days, crisp leaves and tastes of the fall season. Here are a few things we love to do at this time of the year.

Pumpkin Patches

What is fall without a trip to the pumpkin patch? The Snohomish River Valley is filled with so many fun options within a quick drive. Craven Farm is one of our favorites when we don’t want to spend a ton of money because there are lots of free photo opportunities and tons of space for the kids to run. Bob’s Corn, Maze & Pumpkin Farm must have a gazillion different fee-based things to do, including an apple cannon and cow train for the kids. Bob’s is located on a higher elevation and has the very best views. If you’re planning an outing primarily for adults, head to Thomas Family Farm for the huge indoor/outdoor beer and wine garden in addition to the usual pumpkin patch activities.

Fall Walks

Our most favorite part about this time of year is the leaves turning stunning yellows and oranges. They drop to the ground and rustle as you walk through them, perfect for a sensory stroll. Centennial Trail heading north out of Snohomish has some areas of beautiful tree canopy that would make a great fall walk. Lowell Riverfront Trail is another good pick. Don’t forget your camera to capture the beauty.

Fall Drinks

We think fall is the best time of the year for great drinks. As the days get cooler, the baristas pull out the ingredients that help warm us up. Yes, there’s pumpkin spice, but check out your local coffee shop to see what they’re brewing. Narrative Coffee has a spectacular espresso drink with orange cardamom syrup, cinnamon, steamed half n half, and orange peel expressed on top. The Loft Coffee Bar is serving up an Apple Pie Kombucha. Yum.
