Seasonal Delights: Is a Winter Home Sale Naughty or Nice?
Many people are leery about buying or selling a home during the holiday season. Truth is, there are both bad and good, or “naughty and nice”, things we have found in our experience over the years. Here’s a few to consider…
Lack of Inventory
Naughty: Not a lot of homes for you to choose from if you’re a buyer.
Nice: There’s less competition if you are selling!
Lack of Buyers
Naughty: Fewer potential buyers will see your home for sale.
Nice: Buyers who are looking this time of year are typically very serious and willing to offer stronger terms.
Dark/Dreary Weather
Naughty: Homes don’t always look their best during the long, dark and wet months of winter.
Nice: What better time to find out if the roof or basement leak than during the wettest time of year?
